The RTIO Freight Packaging & Preparation Awareness course has been custom made with RTIO. It is for Rio Tinto employees and contractors that need to prepare and package freight to meet RTIO requirements.
The course covers:
- An understanding of WHS and Chain of Responsibility legislation as it relates to the Rio Tinto workplace
- Rio Tinto company policies and procedures, documentation, and freight markings
- Different freight profiles and devices used to restrain and contain goods
- Defining what dunnage is and how it is used
- Manual handling
- Strapping machine operation and PPE requirements
Course Duration and Fees
$275.00 (GST-free) 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Timed to accommodate those completing the Manual Handling course in the morning.
Course Requirements
Learners must:
- Complete thorough pre-reading of the Nationwide Training Manual Guide before attending.
- Wear fully enclosed shoes.
- Be able to read, write, and understand English.
- Have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Please visit: www.usi.gov.au.

This classroom-based training is delivered face-to-face.
On Successful Completion
On successful completion of RTIO Freight Packaging & Preparation Awareness course you will receive a Notice of Assessment issued by Nationwide Training.
